Instagram : May Round Up

gus and ollie, handmade in hamburg, Germany, baby, instagram, sock monkey, taking stockHello Friends 🙂

How are you? How has your week been? I thought I would post a small little round up of some of my latest posts to Instagram, just in case you missed them. The month of May seems to have been such a colourful one – which is just the way I like it.

I admire & follow so many Instagram accounts, that post photos only with white backgrounds. Photos of pastel-colored decor seem to be very popular and I am truly drawn to those shots – so white, clean, organised and minimal. I would love to think I could have an account like those, but I have no hope.

My world is full of things, full of collections, full of colour. I usually can’t just choose one – so I photograph them all. When I look at my Instagram profile page, it’s pretty clear I am drawn to the busy, the bright and the bold –  even though I admire so many to the contrary.

Are you on Instagram? What is your account like? Do you try to keep to a cohesive collection of photos or do you post on the fly, when something or someone catches your eye and inspiration? Do you stage your photos – or do you take the honest, “doesn’t matter if the laundry basket is in the background” approach?

I think I’m somewhere in-between – I try to be pretty honest, but also think about composition, colour and light. These have been natural concerns of mine for as long as I can remember, when looking through a lens.

I’d love to hear how you approach Instagram and how you document your world.
