Hi there 🙂
I thought it was about time for another One + Four = Life post. I have been making and photographing and making and photographing these last few weeks, with the view outside my window being as enticing as my studio. Continue reading “One + Four = Life : Desktop, Fire, Streetscape & Hooking”
I think it’s wonderful when something serendipitous happens, don’t you? The chance decision to go and look for a coffee, down a street we don’t usually go, found us falling into the most delightful cafe, that just happens to be directly connected to a wool and yarn shop! Bingo!
The name of this gorgeous little wonderland is Mylys. From the street, you see Myly’s cafe on the left and Mylys yarn store on the right. They both have their own front doors – but once you’re inside, you see they are connected by a small opening in the adjoining wall – tempting coffee drinkers to take up knitting and knitters to buy a coffee. Win-win, I say!
I couldn’t let another moment pass, without sharing some of this special place with you.

I am actually still here, alive and well. I apologise for being absent of late – how are you? Thank you for hanging in there.
It’s lovely to be back, sharing a few photos with you of what’s been happening recently.
It’s been a pretty busy summer – one to remember – with lots of sunshine, travel and kitty photos of course. I still plan to share some tidbits of our trips here, there and everywhere – so stay tuned for those in the coming weeks.
I thought I would kick this Sunday off with another One + Four = Life post – a great way to give you a snippet of what’s been happening, in this colourful world we live. Continue reading “One + Four = Life : Kitten, Wool, Elephant & Blooms”
Hi there Friends!
Sometimes something special happens.
This is one of those times, I’d like to share with you.
A very special custom order came in from a friend of mine a few weeks ago, who teaches an amazing group of students at that Verney Road School in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia.
One of their favourite books written by Mike Curato (Hi Mike!) is Little Elliot, Big City – about a little Elephant called Elliot, taking on Manhattan, with some of the most delightful illustrations I have seen in a long time. They instantly take me back to those streets, I very recently walked myself. Continue reading “Little Elliot, Big City.”
Hi Friends 🙂
It’s been a little while since I’ve posted here – probably a combination of a few things really.
Summer in our house is valued a great deal, especially since we moved to Hamburg – where Summer can range from a few weeks – to a few days! This year, Summer was an interesting mix of humidity, sunshine and lots of rain – but it was on those sunny days I felt the need to be out and about! Gee it’s nice to leave the house in nothing more than a cardie and sandals!
I travelled this Summer more than I have any other Summer I think – 6 countries this year so far and counting. If you know me at all, that means lots and lots of clicks on my camera – which means lots and lots of downloading, sorting, editing, deleting and more sorting – which I am still getting through – so please stay tuned for some Look Back posts about moments in NYC & Rovinj, Croatia – two amazing cities!!
We also adopted a gorgeous little kitten – who of course has also taken up a lot of my time of late – of which, I am not complaining. She makes me laugh and smile everyday and I treasure her morning cuddles. We have managed to get into a pretty good routine together, which will me help this Autumn to get back into the studio a little more often.
Some how in between all these lovely happenings, some new Monkies and Monsters were made & photographed – which I’d love to share with you.

Friends, can you believe July is over? That’s it’s August already? Crazy isn’t it.
This year has moved in fits and spurts for me – sometimes slow, sometimes fast and sometimes at a glacial pace. It doesn’t seem that long ago we were booking my flight to New York City – a city I have longed to see again for 15 years – and now I’ve been and gone.
So with the ending of my favourite month of the year – my Birthday month – I though it time to do an Instagram round up, to take a little look back a what was a colourful, Summer month in the Northern Hemisphere – full of fun, travel, toys and kitty cats!

Hi there. How has your week been?
I couldn’t let these pictures be saved to my hard drive without being shared. Aren’t they lush?
After my Canon DSLR decided to freeze up on me in New York, I finally collected it from the shop today, repaired and ready to go! Yay! I have been itching to try out the new lens I received for my Birthday last weekend. Isn’t it soft.
I’ve never had a macro lens before (55mm-250mm), so after adjusting to the feel and weight of my camera and having to move further back that I usually do, the smooth, soft click of the shutter felt like home in no time.
What better subject to shoot, than a brand new kitty cat? Our British Shorthair Minty was obligingly on hand, bathing herself in the afternoon sun. I laid on the floor a little further away than I normally would, zoomed in and enjoyed the show. The beautiful natural light streaming in the windows helped too. It’s so nice to have my camera back.
Have you ever had to live without your camera for a while? Tough isn’t it? Phones are just no substitutes.
There will be more New York Snapshots and Gus & Ollie updates shortly.
Have a lovely weekend,
