Hi there 🙂
I thought it was about time for another One + Four = Life post. I have been making and photographing and making and photographing these last few weeks, with the view outside my window being as enticing as my studio.
I love Autumn. I always have. I have such fond memories of afternoons spent walking through the beautiful parks and gardens of Melbourne during the months of March, April & May. Being wowed by the colours, the leaves and the beautiful Autumn light at every turn. Although the Autumn months for me are now different, Hamburg never fails to warm my heart – just before the cold hits.
So on with a little bit of what I’ve been doing.
One: Desktop
This was the view of my desk just yesterday; two custom orders finished, named and ready for their lovely owners to see them and a bunch of brand new winter woolly socks, for some winter woolly monkey making! I can’t wait to see how these turn out. This is the only time of year i can find socks, that are just right – so I shall keep you posted on their progress.
Two: Fire
I make a point of documenting my gorgeous neighbourhood throughout the seasons – I love it covered in cherry blossoms in Spring, the deep blues and greens of Summer, covered in snow in Winter and under a canopy of leaves in Autumn. It’s absolutely breathtaking and this tree is no exception. It really helps me to stop and acknowledge the privilege of being a witness to these spectacular changes.
Three: Streetscape
This is Autumn. This is my neighbourhood. This is why I feel so lucky to experience living here in Hamburg. This is my favourite time of year.
Four: Hooking
A sneak peak at a little something I have started for a friend of mine expecting her first baby this winter. Don’t you just love the colour! It’s wound as a double strand, so this will end up extra soft and cosy. It’s for a little girl and what little girl doesn’t love green? I try to steer clear of pink for girls and blue for boys – it makes me mad to think of colours dictated by gender. I love blue! and I love green! I know they will too.
