Taggy Giraffes : What better reason?

This little cutie has been in my head for a little while now (I have SO MUCH gorgeous fabric)…..but there’s no better reason to make you actually sit down and do it – than the arrival of a new little person in the family. My nephew came into the world recently and in no time, I was booked on a train to go meet him – which meant I needed to finish some handmade goodies I had filed away. And this was one of them.

I like to call him a Taggy Giraffe.

Made from gorgeous soft cotton fabric – his pattern was hand drawn by me. I thought my labels would make the perfect tail – an extra taggy. I collected lots of different coloured/textured ribbon for down his neck – which not only makes him extra sweet, but extra interesting for little ones too!

No other detail was added, to make him extra safe and soft for my newborn nephew to play with – and most likely eat – immediately. I did think about embroidering some eyes – but loved the fabric so much, I thought it just as nice to leave plain.

I hope to be able to share a photo of my little nephew enjoying his new Taggy Giraffe’s company – but need the ok from my sister first. I guess I should go ask her.

Hope you like him! I plan to have a few more available soon – and will definitely let you know when they’re available online in my Etsy Shop. But do let me know in the meantime if I can make one for the special little person in your life.
